“I would like to pass on my thanks and appreciation to BALPA, who assisted me financially throughout a difficult period of my life due to health issues and being unable to fly. I lost my medical on thankfully a temporary basis, following a mass being detected on my lung, which turned out to be a blockage only. BALPA introduced me to the Benevolent Fund, set up to help pilots who are in need of assistance.

The BALPA team provided great assistance, to ensure that I was being looked after properly. I now have my medical back from the CAA and I been given a clean bill of health from my AME, after a recent renewal of my medical. I have since passed all my ground school and sim checks and I am now back flying again around Europe, with much enjoyment. Many thanks for the help BALPA, something I will never forget and I will always be grateful for!”
